What is Upcycling?
Why Upcycling?
Upcycling is the conversion of unwanted objects into usable ones of higher value and quality, without degrading the composition of the material.
There are items that cannot be recycled easily in Singapore. For example, type #6 plastic and wood are some items that cannot be recycled.

Upcycling encourages active participation of the individual in the waste reduction process as opposed to recycling, which is more passive and only involves throwing something into a bin.

Upcycling uses less energy as compared to recycling and it creates a new product without using additional resources.
Families can engage in upcycling together, giving them an opportunity to bond.
