Three big eco-events are happening this week! Learn more about conscious living and how we can work towards a sustainable future.

What a year it has been for local green advocates, with the launch of multiple zero-waste stores across Singapore and brands, companies coming forward to pledge their support to the zero-waste movement with the ban of single-use plastic straws.
Coincidentally, three of the biggest events on the local eco-calendar - Clean & Green Singapore (CGS), The Conscious Festival by Green is The New Black (GTNB), the Singapore Eco-Film Festival (SGEFF), Singapore Youth4Climate Festival 2018 are all taking place on the same weekend from 3rd - 4th November! Most importantly, entry is free for all these events.
From recycling drives to upcycling workshops, there’s so much happening and there will definitely be something for everyone! We picked out some of the best things to do for you to maximize your #SGGreenWeekend.
Clean & Green Singapore Launch
CGS is back and they will be celebrating the launch with a carnival that will include an Eco-Fair, Makers’ Corner and a Recycling Drive. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will also be gracing the event as the Guest-of-Honour.

Recycle and more
There will be a recycling drive happening at CGS where participants can redeem a free gift, when they bring along 3 kg or more of recyclables - including glass, paper, plastic, metal and non-bulky electronic waste. We aren’t quite sure of the free gift - whether it’s an incentive discount or a souvenir product. Whatever it is, hopefully it is aligned to the cause and would at least be something of use!
For those with pre-loved clothes lying around your closet, you can also donate them at the event or participate in a clothes swap.
Repair and Upcycling Workshops
Participants can look forward to a series of FREE repair and upcycling workshops. They can learn how to repair common household appliances or upcycle unwanted items into useful products such as tote bags and stationary holders.

Seats are limited and on a first-come-first-served basis. These workshops will run throughout the day, so don’t fret if you missed any!
Shop for Sustainable Products
Ever wanted to buy your own reusable straw or cutlery set? Check out upcycled accessories and various sustainable products at the Eco-Fair! Close to 20 vendors and partners will be participating including Swapaholic, The Sustainability Project and Uglyfood.

The Conscious Festival
The annual event by GTNB is back for a fourth edition and it promises to empower people with the knowledge and inspiration, for them to take positive actions for their life and work.

An immersive experience
There will be over 70 brands and artists on display at the marketplace. Participants can look forward to a curated range of local fashion, art, beauty and lifestyle brands who are conscious in their business practices.
Feeling hungry? You can satisfy your palettes with the menu of food and drinks, which are good for both you and the planet. Vendors include VeganBurg, HRVST and Dosirak.
Finally, end the night in style with live music from local and overseas artistes. There will also be a display of art-installations, which seeks to inspire and spark conversations about sustainability issues and topics. Here’s a sneak peak of one these examples from Green Nudge.
Be a conscious change maker
Hear from experts and thought leaders from Asia and beyond on how they lead the eco change in their respective organisations. There will be 4 main sessions, revolving around a different theme of Live, Work, Consume and Travel respectively - each encompassing an interesting range of topics such as going zero-waste and block-chaining for sustainability.
Do note that these talks are ticketed, get your tickets here!
